Debate...
Okay, so I am deliberating between a few things with my new story I am writing. For the time period, I am debating doing it between modern day and back in the day when kings and queens ruled. Let me know which one you would rather read about. Also, if I do it modern day, which I am leaning towards, should I put my characters in high school or college? I wonder if high school is overdone...let me know what you think! Thanks!

if you want to target young adults then definitely stick with high school.
ReplyDeletequeen/king rule/fantasy (which i love) targets usually an even younger side of the young adult audience.
modern day might have more of an appeal to readers because it seems more applcable.

ReplyDeleteAlthough I think that both time eras are great I agree with Christine. I think that young adults would relate better with modern day. High School does get overdone a lot, but at the same time College is a busy time for people to read in addition to their textbooks. Maybe you could write it specifically for High Schooler's preparing for college (if that makes sense!).
